Sample Daily Schedule
Below is a general outline of a three-hour session in the AM or PM. Depending on the season and group dynamic these times are flexible. Our aim is to learn and be in nature to cultivate a deep inquiry into your child's interest and to build strong nature connections over time.
Meeting Time
Welcome to the land!
We begin our time together with a soft start of free play at Sandy Beach Park, Hudson beside our meeting place. Parents are welcome to join, engage or simply drop off. The first hour children spend time exploring different areas of the forest and spaces while greeting other children. After the first hour we slowly gather into a formal meeting circle where we might sing a welcome song, or a story, or share how we are feeling and what we are excited or curious about for our time together in the forest. A snack might be eaten at this time.

**Please ensure your child brings a healthy snack and a water bottle, and is dressed ready to play with nature and handle the weather!
Play Time
The next hour we spend getting to know each other, our environment and ourselves through purposeful play where teachers have planned sensory awareness games, skill-building, and exploratory time moving and discovering nature. Our teachers engage with children's interests, guiding and engaging with them through play. Choices are offered to encourage role play, games, social interactions, and language development.

Our program connects with primary program principles from the Quebec Ministry of Education, Forest School Canada, Reggio Emelia Approaches, and from the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Closing Time
We bring grounding and calmness to close our time together with time spent in silent reflection. Each child chooses a space alone to observe and notice nature and time to quietly reflect on their day. Children have the option to draw or journal. We end with a formal closing circle and the opportunity for each child to share their favourite moments, and a word of thankfulness and we close together in a song or story. Together we spend time cleaning the land to be left as it was for others to enjoy. Parents can meet us back at our meeting space.
Please be on time!

*If your child spends the full day with us, please pack a lunch.
