Last week of Winter Session

Updated: Apr 1, 2023

What Happened?

The children had a lot of energy this week! We played our favourite games like 3 Billy Goats Gruff, cat family, ninja cats, and London Bridge. We also tried some new ones like Moana, and Little Red Riding Hood. We looked for snow free surfaces for laying out seeds for the hungry migrating birds. Rose made a restaurant for birds on a fallen log. We said goodbye to the children who were not returning in the spring session. Please see the captions on the photos for more information.

What Does it Mean?

The children demonstrated their connection to the forest by caring for the animals and giving thanks to the trees and water. The children's ability to now play cooperatively with each other demonstrates a deeper connection between the children.

What's Next?

We will look for more signs of spring as we welcome the new students in our spring session next week! We will play, explore and learn in the beautiful forests of Hudson.

Hooray! I'm so glad the children tapped a tree in Jack Layton Park. Gorgeous photos highlight the last week of the winter season. So much growth has happened with the group as they continue to build friendships, nature connections and confidence. Thank you to all the amazing teachers for your dedication and fun this winter! You survived the coldest months with so much love and big smiles!☺️
